Ministry recap

Where He is sending.

A few weeks ago we had a dinner for many of our juniors and seniors who have been serving this movement and who we want to challenge to consider joining with us full-time in the coming year. One of my roles on the staff team here is to coach our Global Connect team, which is in charge of promoting summer projects and STINT. This dinner is probably my biggest personal responsibility for one event all year. And I love it!

I found myself really getting excited as I started praying and planning for the night. So many details went into the night, including formal invitations which I got to design with my skills learned while studying Landscape Architecture (my design skills often come into play with this job). We also had great catering and a beautiful location at the Minnoch house. They were so gracious to open their home to almost 70 people for the night.                                        Mark and Heather Minnoch

Our staff team’s normal dress for the week usually includes rainbow sandals or vans and v-neck t-shirts. But this night we enjoyed dressing professional since we do take our jobs serious. We are working for eternal purposes… why wouldn’t we take it serious?? I really love working with my team (picture at top) and find it such a pleasure and a blessing to be on a team with varied skills and talents. They were all very supportive and helpful all night, asking me about details and helping to keep the night on track. Jamey, our team leader, even said “This dinner is the best event we do as a team all year.”

But really what gets me excited about this night is all the potential held within one small living room. The picture to the left is of all the students, about 50, sitting tightly together and listening to Jamey share why joining with us is a great first choice. We want students to know that serving in ministry is a not a choose they have to make because no other options are open for them. We desire for laborers who truly understand the unique and privileged work that Jesus lays before us. Jesus tells us to “pray for the Lord of the harvest to raise up laborers.” We have prayed SO much for Jesus to do that. And He is doing it! He is raising and sending laborers from Cal Poly to many nations.

Be praying with us that thousands of souls would be ransomed and redeemed by Jesus because hundreds of Cal Poly graduates counted it all loss in comparison to making Jesus famous among the nations.
